This policy explains which data the Cliché application ("the app") processes, for what purpose, and what your rights are under the Quebec and Canadian frameworks (Law 25 and PIPEDA). Cliché is an app of virtual "disposable" cameras.
1. Summary
- Your photos and cameras are stored locally on your device. They are never sent to our servers.
- There is no Raxoon account and no iCloud (CloudKit) sync is active. We do not directly collect your name or email address.
- The free version displays ads: through Unity Ads on iOS from version 1.2.0 (earlier iOS versions may use Start.io), through Start.io on Android.
- In-app purchases go through Apple on iOS and Google Play on Android.
2. Information processed
- Photos and cameras created: stored locally, never transmitted to Raxoon. Apple or Google system backups and transfer to a new Android device may include them, depending on your settings. A photo is only shared or exported when you do it yourself.
- Permissions: camera, to take photos; local notifications (a "development finished" reminder), no remote notifications. On iOS, read and write access to Photos is used for the Cliché album; if you decline, the app can fall back to simply adding photos. On Android, exports use MediaStore without general read access to your photos; the external storage write permission is only requested on older versions, up to Android 9.
- Purchases: handled by Apple (StoreKit) on iOS and Google Play (Google Play Billing) on Android. The app only receives the status of your purchases or subscriptions; Raxoon never receives your payment details.
- Advertising: the ad SDKs (Unity Ads, Start.io) process and measure their own technical and advertising data, for example an advertising identifier when available, under their own policies.
- Diagnostics: Raxoon has added no independent analytics or crash-reporting service and collects no usage data for itself.
3. Advertising and consent
On iOS, the app determines your region first from your App Store account country, then from the device settings. In the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and covered territories, or if the region is unknown, ads are contextual and the "App Tracking Transparency" (ATT) prompt is not shown. Elsewhere, ads are only personalised if you allow tracking in the ATT prompt. You can change this choice in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
On Android, a choice dialog is shown if the network, SIM card or device language indicates the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, or if none of these signals is known. The SDK waits for your answer; if you decline, ads are contextual. Outside these regions, personalisation is enabled without this dialog.
Ad removal: the "Ad-free for life" and "Everything for life" purchases, and an active Cliché+ subscription, remove ads and rewarded videos. "Unlimited cameras for life" alone keeps ads. On iOS, when an ad-free entitlement is recognised, the ad SDK is not initialised and the ATT prompt is not shown. On Android, Start.io may still be initialised before ad removal is applied, so technical processing by this SDK remains possible, including for paying users. The app may limit ads while your entitlements are not yet known.

4. Purchases and subscription
Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple on iOS and Google Play on Android. Managing, renewing and cancelling is done from your App Store account (Settings › your name › Subscriptions) or Google Play (Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions). See also the Terms of sale.
5. Disclosure of information and transfers outside Quebec
We do not sell your information. Information may be processed by our providers strictly to operate the app: Apple and Google (purchases, system), Unity Ads and Start.io (advertising), including outside Quebec and Canada. In accordance with Law 25, we make sure this information benefits from adequate protection. Each provider acts under its own privacy policy.
6. Retention
Photos and cameras are kept on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app, subject to any system backups you have enabled. Advertising data is retained according to the policies of Unity Ads and Start.io.
7. Security
Because your content is stored locally, its security depends on your device's security (passcode, system encryption, backups if enabled). No system is perfectly secure, but we keep collection to the strict minimum.
8. Minors
The app is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
9. Your rights
Under Law 25 (Quebec) and PIPEDA (Canada), you have rights of access, rectification, withdrawal of consent and, where applicable, de-indexing. Since we hold no information identifying you on our servers, most of these rights are exercised directly on your device (deleting cameras/photos) and through your Apple or Google settings. Authorities: Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
EU/EEA users: the GDPR may apply (rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability; your local authority, e.g. the CNIL in France).
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above will be modified accordingly.
