Help & Support

Last updated: October 1, 2026

Welcome to the Eggbits help page, the retro creature-raising game from Raxoon Studios. You'll find answers to the most common questions here. A question without an answer? Write to us: support@raxoon.com.

Getting Started

What is Eggbits?
A virtual creature-raising game. You hatch an egg, then feed, wash, care for and train the creature that comes out. As it grows, it travels through the eras of video games: black-and-white LCD screen, four shades of green, color 8-bit, then detailed 16-bit. Once adult, it can lay an egg: its lineage carries on, generation after generation.

Cozy or Retro?
You choose when it hatches. In Cozy (recommended), a neglected creature goes on a trip and comes back a few hours later: it never dies. In Retro, it's the old-school experience: prolonged neglect can be fatal.

Does time pass when the app is closed?
Yes, that's the idea: your creatures live in real time. They sleep at night and get hungry at mealtimes. Turn on notifications to be alerted when one of them needs you.

Which languages?
The app follows your iPhone's language: English, French, Spanish or Polish. Texts on the retro screen are written in capitals without accents, just like the screens of the time.

Do I need an Internet connection?
No. The game, the widget and the Apple Watch app work offline. A connection is only needed for in-app purchases and advertising.

Layouts

How do I change the game display?
Tap the icon at the top right of the game screen. Three layouts are available:

  • Modern (default): a large retro screen sized to the phone and big thumb-friendly buttons;
  • Device: the little pocket console with three buttons A, B, C, just like back in the day;
  • Full screen: the game screen alone, with nothing around it.

How do the A, B, C buttons work?
A moves to the next icon, B confirms, C cancels. You can also tap an icon directly.

Care, Training and Lineage

How do I know what my creature needs?
The call icon lights up when it wants attention. The STATS pages show its hunger, happiness, cleanliness, energy, age, weight and discipline.

What are the mini-games?
Each era has its own: Left or Right (LCD, guess which way the creature will look), Hurdle Hop (four greens, jump at the right time, faster and faster), Fruit Catch (8-bit, catch the fruit and dodge the traps) and Melody (16-bit, play back a longer and longer run of notes). A good round brings joy; your best score is kept. At the Baby stage, the PLAY icon starts the game directly; after that, the SPORT icon opens a menu that starts with GAME, and the "Play" button of the Modern layout starts it in one tap.

What is training for?
From the Child stage onward, the SPORT icon's menu offers, after GAME, four sessions (Speed, Jump, Power, Stamina), each one a mini-game lasting a few seconds. Your score determines the gain. Training makes your creature tired and hungry, but happy.

What is the care flame?
It counts the days in a row on which you looked after at least one creature (meal, care, game, training…). It holds until midnight; a missed day puts it out. You can repair it within 48 hours, once a month, by watching a short video; with Unlimited, repairs are free and one missed day per month is covered automatically. The 7, 30, 100 and 365-day milestones are shown in the Stadium's Trophy case. The flame is the same on your iPhone and your watch.

How do I get a new egg?
A healthy, well-fed, happy adult creature can lay an egg from the last STATS page (Lay button in the Modern layout). You then have to wait two days before the next laying. The child inherits some of its parent's stats. At the natural end of its life, a creature may also leave behind a last egg.

How many creatures can I raise?
Four active creatures in total in the free version, unlimited with Unlimited. Boarding is unlimited: a creature in boarding is paused (no hunger, no care needed). You can visit it and bring it back when a spot opens up.

What happens if I release a creature?
It leaves your family for good. It stays visible, grayed out, in the family tree. A double confirmation keeps you from doing it by mistake; this action is irreversible.

Widget and Apple Watch

How do I add the widget?
Long-press the Home Screen → "+" → Eggbits. A creature's widget shows its status and offers care buttons. The Family widget shows all your creatures. On the Lock Screen, a small widget shows how many are waiting for care.

How do I play on the Apple Watch?
Install the Eggbits app from the Watch app on your iPhone. You'll find your creatures there: care, training, mini-games, laying, boarding and releasing. The Digital Crown scrolls through the icons. Complications show the status of your creatures on the watch face.

My watch and my iPhone don't show the same thing.
They sync when they're close to each other and both apps have been opened recently. Open the app on the iPhone, then on the watch: the most recent version of each creature wins.

Purchases

What do the in-app purchases offer?

  • No Ads — a one-time purchase that permanently removes advertising.
  • Unlimited — a one-time purchase that removes advertising and lets you raise as many creatures as you want.

How do I restore my purchases?
Shop tab → "Restore purchases". Your purchases are tied to your Apple Account.

I don't see the products in the shop.
The shop depends on the App Store. Check your connection and try again later; also make sure in-app purchases aren't restricted (Screen Time → Restrictions).

Privacy and Data

What data do you collect?
None on our side: Eggbits requires no account, and your creatures stay on your iPhone and your watch. The free version shows ads through Unity Ads (Unity Technologies), which may process device data, an approximate location (country) and, only if you allow tracking (App Tracking Transparency), the advertising identifier. In the EU, the UK and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before any ad; you can change your mind at any time in Shop › Settings › Ads and privacy. With permanent No Ads or Unlimited, or an active support subscription, the app stops requesting ads; Unity’s policy still applies to data it already processed. Details: Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my data?
Delete the app from your iPhone and your watch. Since everything is local, this permanently erases your creatures.

Common Issues

I'm not receiving notifications. Check iOS Settings → Notifications → Eggbits, as well as your Focus modes. The game deliberately limits the number of reminders per day.

My creature went on a trip. In Cozy mode, a neglected creature leaves for a few hours, then comes back on its own. Take good care of it when it returns!

The widget isn't up to date. iOS refreshes widgets at its own pace. Opening the app forces an update.

I lost my save. Your creatures are stored only on your devices: they can't be recovered after the app is deleted or the device is reset. Your purchases, however, can be restored.

Support subscriptions

Monthly support (€2.99/month in France) includes No Ads while active. Annual support (€14.99/year in France, billed annually) includes No Ads and Unlimited while active. They are alternatives in the same subscription group and do not stack. Apple displays your local price before purchase.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled in your Apple Account settings before the period ends. Use Manage Subscription in the Shop. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Existing permanent purchases remain valid; subscribing does not automatically refund earlier purchases. When a subscription expires, its benefits end without deleting creatures.

Android and Wear OS

On Android, restore purchases and subscriptions in the Shop using the Google Account used for purchase. Apple purchases do not transfer to Google Play. Wear OS sync uses Google Play services between the phone and its paired watch. Open the phone app with a network connection to refresh entitlements, then reconnect the watch. Offline subscription entitlements last at most 24 hours after verification. Cancel subscriptions through Google Play; uninstalling the app does not cancel them.
