1. Versions covered

  • iOS version 1.1.2, currently distributed, uses Start.io for advertising.
  • From iOS version 2.0.0, Unity Ads replaces Start.io.
  • Android version 2.0.0 uses Start.io.
  • Version 2.0.0 is in preparation; availability depends on the stores.

2. Your habits and in-app data

Your habits, history, streaks, statistics and flowers are stored locally on your device. No Raxoon server receives the content of your habits.

  • iOS: sync uses the private CloudKit database of your iCloud account, which Raxoon cannot access. Proof photo files stay local and are not synced.
  • Android: no iCloud sync; images you select remain referenced locally.
  • System backups: these depend on your Apple or Google settings.
  • Export: the JSON export of your habits and flowers does not include images. You choose its destination, which is subject to that provider's policy.

3. Advertising

The free version shows banners. In version 2.0, an optional video lets you support the app from Settings. From version 2.0.0 onwards, no ad is forced when creating a habit.

The no-banner purchase or subscription removes banners, but the optional video remains available: the advertising SDK is therefore not fully disabled.

3.1 Unity Ads (iOS 2.0.0 and later)

Unity Ads may process device identifiers, device, language and network characteristics, approximate location, ad interactions, advertising, usage and purchase data, performance data and reports sent to ad support, for advertising, measurement, analytics and operation. Root.in does not provide any user account identifier.

Reading the IDFA and tracking subject to App Tracking Transparency (ATT) require your system permission; declining does not block your habits. ATT does not guarantee the absence of all technical processing and is not the full set of legal consents.

3.2 Start.io (Android and older iOS versions)

Start.io may process IP address and approximate location, the advertising identifier when available, device characteristics, ad interactions, diagnostics and crash reports, as well as information from queries about installed apps when the advertising identifier is available (see the Start.io data disclosure). Advertising data may be shared with partners; diagnostics are used for analytics. Root.in does not request precise location permission.

On Android 2.0, personalization is disabled in the configuration and the Start.io consent panel is enabled; this does not mean that no data is collected.

Start.io states that it retains advertising data for 12 months in the EU and the UK and 36 months elsewhere, subject to the exceptions in its policy.

3.3 Partner policies

Unity privacy policy · Start.io privacy policy. Their policies detail recipients, retention, transfers and your rights.

4. Purchases and notifications

Purchases go through Apple or Google: Raxoon does not receive your card details. The app checks your purchase entitlements; on Android, receipts are verified locally. Notifications are local, with no Raxoon server.

5. Support and rights

If you write to support, we receive your email address and message content to reply; avoid including unnecessary sensitive information. Requests for access, correction and deletion can be sent to privacy@raxoon.com.

6. Retention and deletion

  • Local data is kept until you delete it, replace it through an import or erase the data.
  • For iCloud and backups, use the provider's settings; uninstalling the app does not guarantee deletion of backups or exports.
  • Delete exported files and images stored elsewhere separately. Raxoon has no access to your private spaces and cannot erase data there remotely.
  • iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Android: advertising ID settings and Start.io controls.
  • For data held by partners, exercise your rights through their policies; privacy@raxoon.com can point you in the right direction.

7. Request deletion of my Root.in data

Write to privacy@raxoon.com with the subject "Suppression de données — Root.in", stating your platform (iOS or Android) and the category of data concerned. Do not send proof photos or sensitive content.

  • Raxoon can delete the support messages it holds, subject to its legal obligations.
  • For advertising data, we will point you to the relevant partner (Unity or Start.io).
  • Local data, iCloud, backups and exports must be erased by you: Raxoon has no access to them.

8. Age

The app is not intended for children under 13. Store age ratings differ by region.
